Shower Thank-Yous [May. 22nd, 2006|01:09 pm]
I had my first wedding shower this weekend! Had a great time! And got lots of great gifts. I'm planning to write my thank you cards tonight. I did notice that a couple of the envelopes had Heather and Mark written on them, some had just my name, and some were blank. When I go to sign the thank-yous do I sign just my name? Or do I have him sign it too? My mom thought I should be writing the Thank-yous, but then I mentioned the fact that some people wrote both our names on the envelopes (Which I would have no idea who did that as I didn't save the envelopes). What did you all do?

2 Months [May. 16th, 2006|03:34 pm]
Yesterday was the 2 month to the wedding. I cannot believe that. Everyone has always said how fast time will go, and sure enough it's flying right by. Defintley looking forward to the big day!!! Invitations went out yesterday. One more thing to cross off the list.

Can't believe the year is coming to an end.  It's crazy to think that Christmas is next weekend...and that I'm headed to Vegas a week after that!!  With New Years being 2 weeks away, that means I'm 2 weeks away from being engaged for a year.  It's crazy to think that it's been that long...It's amazing how fast time flies.  I have about 7 months to my wedding, and I know that's going to be here tomorrow.

I think I got the major stuff out of the way for my wedding.  I think the last big thing that I need to get is a limo...oh, and I guess I need to decide on a bridesmaids color and a bridesmaids dress.  But hey, I did order my dress when I was home for Thanksgiving so that's a big step in the right direction.

Work is still going really good for me.  We just had our Christmas party on Friday, which was followed by our 'post-Christmas party' which entailed everyone going to the bar.  I got wasted, and am still finding out some stuff that I defintley don't remember doing.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!!!  And a great New Year!!!

House!!!! [May. 10th, 2005|03:34 pm]
I bought a house!!!!!!!!!!

I'm excited. It's down in Alexandria VA....which means a 5 minute drive to work for me. (much better than my 40-60 minute drive now). The house is practically brand new. The owner before was an investor and he hired a contractor and they re-did everything. It has new hard-wood floors, new appliances in the kitchen, a completley finished basement w/ a bathroom. Tons of good stuff!!! I'm excited. Closing is on the 23rd of this month. (I know very soon!)

Not a whole lot has been happening here.

Been doing some wedding planning.  We're still deciding where to get married.  I think we're going to try for Syracuse first, with the wedding at Hendrick's and then the reception at the Sheraton.  They don't start booking Hendrick's for 2006 weddings until March 1, so we should know better after next week.  It's on a 1st come 1st serve basis, so if we get through before someone else who wants our date then we should be set to go.

However, I think I'm a little torn on what I really want to do.  If it doesn't happen in Syracuse, then we would look into places in Buffalo.  One of the thing that would be nice in Buffalo is I'd actually have someplace to get ready and would know where everything is the day of the wedding.  If it's in Syracuse, then I'll end up having to get ready in a hotel room.  Not sure how I feel about that.  I think it's helpful that my family lives in Buffalo.  If they need to take care of anything beforehand, it'll be right down the road.  That won't be the case if we have it in Syracuse.  I don't know.  I guess we'll see what the 1st turns out to be like and then go from there.

Speaking of Syracuse, I'm headed up there this weekend to go to the b-ball game.  I'm looking forward to that!!  Go to the game...go to Faegan's...good times to be had :)

I'm looking forward to dress shopping!!!  I've been waiting to go with my sisters and mom for the 1st time.  I've been doing some looking online, which is fun!  I'll have to bring my camera when I do go and post some pictures :)

There's so much to decide when planning a wedding.  I now see why people choose to elope.  Lately I've been trying to figure out who I want to make my maid of honor....Well before that, I need to decide how many people we're going to have in the bridal party.  There's so many people that I would like to have as bridesmaids....

Blah, I still have over an hour to kill and then I have to head off to my soccer game.  TV time!!!

New Years News [Jan. 3rd, 2005|11:00 am]
[mood |lovedloved]

I'm ENGAGED!!!!!!!

Mark proposed to me down in New Orleans on New Years. It was so exciting!!! We were standing there counting down to 2005, and gave each other a New Year's kiss...I thought then we'd go say Happy New Year to everyone else that was standing around. Instead, he goes, 'I have a question for you' and he pulls out his hand and on his finger is a gorgeous ring. I don't think I said anything right away, I was standing there speechless. It's so awesome though. I couldn't be any happier right now :) There was 12 of us that went down to New Orleans, and I thought they knew about it...but they had no idea what-so-ever.

It was great calling everyone up and telling them our news. My sister cried when I told her. My parents are super excited. I'll finally make my moms dream come true. For years now she was wondering when one of her kids would get married. I can't believe I'm going to be planning a wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Christmas [Dec. 29th, 2004|01:06 pm]
[mood |boredbored]

Christmas was good!! (Minus all the driving that we did.) We drove over 1000 miles over a couple of days. 1st was a couple days in Buffalo. Lots of good laughs there....Christmas day we drove up to Albany to spend time with Mark's family. And then we were back on the road Monday heading back down to Maryland. I missed being able to go into Erie to visit with the rest of the family. Oh well, I guess that's the price you pay splitting time.

30 hours and I'll be on the plane headed to New Orleans!!!! I'm so excited, I can't wait!! Looking forward to crazy times down there!

I think the random gift of the year goes to my foreman Mike...I was leaving work on Thursday and he told me to look in my right hand desk drawer. I opened the presenet when I got home, and it was a bottle of perfume...Wouldn't be all that bad, but it smells like something that my great-great grandmother would wear. What he wrote in the card was cute, so that made up for it....

This week is kind of nice. Just came into work this morning (took Mon. and Tues. off), so today is like my Monday...and tomorrow is like my Friday. If only every work week was only 2 days long...

Christmas Time! [Dec. 20th, 2004|03:48 pm]
Man, I can't believe Christmas is this week already, where has all the time gone?

I'm looking forward to going home. We're heading up to Buffalo Thursday after work. Have a feeling it's going to be a long ride...Spending Friday and part of Christmas with my family in Buffalo. After we open gifts and eat breakfast, Mark and I are heading up to Albany to spend Christmas with his family. Lot's of driving....But I'm looking forward to it. We'll come back on Monday. I took Tuesday off...and on Thursday I'm going to New Orleans!!!! Yeahh, I can't wait for that. We're flying down Thurs. evening and staying until Sunday. There's 12 of us going, so it's going to be one big party.

2 weeks after New Orleans, I'm headed out to Denver to visit Odette and Sarah!!!! Mark and I are going out there for a long weekend!! Never been to Denver before.

It's freezing cold. It's like 20 degrees outside today....The thing that sucks is our heater is broken in our trailer...So I've been working all day in the cold. I might as well be outside right now. They better get the heat fixed, or I'll have to start working out of my car or something.
